What kind of insurance coverage do you provide for my belongings?
At JonesBros, we provide Released Value Protection, which is included with your move at no additional cost. This covers your belongings at a rate of $0.60 per pound, per item, with a small deductible applied before reimbursement.
By focusing on this level of protection, we’re able to keep our prices among the most competitive in the industry—and in reality, most of our customers never have to use this service because our crews move items with great care.
What is the difference between Released Value Protection and Full Value Protection?
Some movers charge extra for “Full Value Protection,” which can significantly increase the cost of your move. At JonesBros, we stick with Released Value Protection to keep your rates low. Instead of replacing or repairing items for their full market value, this coverage is based on weight.
Example: If a 100-pound dresser is damaged, the coverage amount would be $60 (100 lbs × $0.60), minus the deductible.
For customers seeking additional coverage, we recommend exploring third-party moving insurance.
How do I file a claim if something is damaged or lost?
While claims are rare, if you do need to file one:
Take clear photos of the item and damage.
Notify your JonesBros crew lead or call our office as soon as possible.
Fill out a claim form (we’ll provide it).
Our team will process the claim promptly, applying the deductible and reimbursement according to Released Value Protection.
